Role Overview

Specialist role delivering evidence-based emergency medicine care within SEHA.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive emergency assessments, take histories, order and interpret appropriate investigations, formulate individualised plans for injuries and acute illnesses, prescribe or administer medication and therapy, perform specialty-related procedures when required, coordinate referrals and multidisciplinary care, and document treatment in line with SEHA and DOH standards.

Requirements and Qualifications

Recognized medical degree, completion of the relevant specialty training and a qualification accepted by the Department of Health Abu Dhabi. Experience requirements vary by tier: current SEHA specialist listings state no additional post-board experience for some Tier 1 routes, at least two years for Tier 2 routes, and at least three years in a Specialist role for Tier 3 routes, subject to the vacancy and UAE-national training exceptions. Valid/eligible DOH licensing is required.
