Role Overview

Mediclinic Middle East is recruiting a Unit Manager - Labour & Delivery Unit, Maternal and Child Health Care to lead nursing or midwifery services, ensure evidence-based care, operational efficiency, quality compliance and positive patient experiences.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong leadership and management guidance to the nursing/midwifery team.
• Ensure evidence-based patient-care practices are followed according to clinical standards.
• Build positive patient experiences by developing employees and creating an engaging team environment.
• Manage clinical and non-clinical resources cost-effectively to support safe care.
• Monitor legislative, regulatory and clinical compliance and drive continuous quality improvement.
• Lead obstetric-emergency preparedness and ensure team readiness to manage clinical emergencies.
• Plan capacity, staffing and patient flow proactively as service demand changes.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Midwifery appropriate to the unit; a relevant master's degree is desirable.
• At least 3–5 years of senior nursing/midwifery experience, with substantial leadership exposure; longer senior experience is preferred for labour and delivery roles.
• Ability to apply the five stages of the scientific nursing process and manage quality, risk, cost, meetings, stock, workforce planning and regulatory compliance.
• Computer literacy/MS Office and strong clinical-procedure assessment and presentation skills.
• Strong obstetric-emergency management, CTG interpretation, perinatal-safety, BFHI and Abu Dhabi DoH knowledge; PROMPT delivery/facilitation is relevant.
