Role Overview

Senior forensic-medicine consultant role delivering medico-legal and forensic medical services through SEHA Mortuary Services and supporting judicial and law-enforcement authorities.

Responsibilities

Lead medico-legal death investigations, forensic examinations and post-mortems; determine cause, mechanism and manner of death; investigate sudden, suspicious, accidental, violent and custodial deaths; collect and preserve evidence with chain of custody; review clinical, toxicology, radiology and investigative records; support disaster-victim identification and mass-casualty work; provide forensic opinions and consultations; prepare medico-legal and autopsy reports; present findings and act as expert witness; supervise staff; collaborate with authorities and healthcare teams; lead governance, audit, accreditation and quality improvement; and participate in research, teaching and continuing professional development.

Requirements and Qualifications

Medical degree, recognised residency in Forensic Medicine or Forensic Pathology, recognised board/CCT/fellowship or equivalent consultant qualification, and eligibility for DOH consultant licensing. At least five years post-board consultant experience in forensic medicine/pathology, including medico-legal investigations and court reporting; DVI/mass-casualty experience is desirable.
