Role Overview

Practical Nurse role supporting patient-centred nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

Maintain a high standard of nursing care using evidence-based guidelines and unit competencies; under RN supervision assess patients and implement nursing care; comply with SEHA policies, procedures and regulatory requirements; keep licensure, certification and mandatory training current; protect confidentiality; promote customer-service standards; maintain effective working relationships and perform other relevant duties within the role's competence.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Diploma of Nursing with a course duration of at least 18 months, plus the applicable professional licensure and mandatory training requirements.

Skills

• Basic nursing assessment and care, evidence-based practice, confidentiality, policy compliance, customer service, teamwork and patient-centred communication.
