Role Overview

American Hospital Dubai is recruiting a Section Supervisor for Anatomic Pathology and Cytopathology to oversee laboratory operations, staff competency, quality systems, proficiency testing and accreditation compliance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day Anatomic Pathology and Cytopathology operations, staff training/supervision, bench requirements and workflow.
• Manage quality improvement, internal/external quality control and troubleshooting of instruments and procedures.
• Supervise proficiency testing and review results; perform method evaluation, validation and setup.
• Manage reagent/supply inventory, materials, statistics and required monthly or annual reports.
• Review methods and staff competency records, prepare technical staff schedules and support laboratory information/computer needs.
• Maintain compliance with CAP and JCI requirements and participate in laboratory focus-group, safety and communication activities.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Cytology or related field.
• Current valid DHA licence.
• At least seven years of relevant experience, including about three years of supervisory experience in Anatomic Pathology and Cytopathology.
• Knowledge of core laboratory sections, CAP/JCI accreditation and laboratory/general computer applications.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
