Job Description
The Clinical Lab Pathologist advises clinicians and the laboratory director, contributes to diagnostic interpretation and service quality, and supports accredited laboratory processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist consultation on diagnostic and laboratory findings.
- Support oversight of laboratory methods, specimens, interpretation and result authorisation.
- Work with clinicians and the laboratory director on service improvements and procedures.
- Help maintain laboratory standards, accreditation and quality-management reports.
- Support clinical chemistry, haematology, immunology and microbiology consultations and advise on test interpretation and laboratory service improvement.
- Prepare quality-management reports addressing key indicators, inventory, budgets, nonconformities and laboratory safety.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Nine to eleven years of experience, with around six years in a comparable specialist responsibility.
- Registered medical practitioner holding relevant pathology specialist recognition.
- Appropriate subspecialty training and advanced degree in clinical pathology fields.
- Professional licensing eligibility and strong English communication.
- Hold relevant specialist pathology registration and meet professional licensing conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- MRCPath or comparable advanced pathology training.
- Arabic language capability in addition to English.
