Google is hiring a Clinical Specialist in Mental Health with a choice of several US locations. The role uses clinical expertise in suicide prevention and mental health together with experience evaluating AI or digital-health products to shape health-related product design and safety.

2. Job Description

The specialist helps develop intelligent and intuitive tools that support health journeys. The position works cross-functionally with software design, engineering, product management, regulatory affairs and research teams and applies clinical judgment to youth mental-health, safety and AI-evaluation work.

3. Key Responsibilities

• Use youth mental-health expertise to plan and execute projects supporting youth wellbeing and mental-health efforts across products.
• Apply methodologies for evaluating AI model performance in mental-health safety and quality applications with product management, testing and safety teams.
• Identify evidence-based practices related to youth mental health and psychological wellbeing and use them to influence product development or refinement.
• Work across company verticals and product areas to advance relevant youth work.
• Work with sensitive or potentially upsetting content when required by the role.

4. Requirements & Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in a clinical field such as MD, PsyD or PhD.
• 3 years of clinical-practice experience, including training, after completion of a doctoral degree.
• 3 years of experience in suicide prevention through hotlines or specific clinical work.
• 1 year of experience evaluating AI products or in digital-health product development.

5. Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in complex and ambiguous environments with cross-functional product-development teams.
• Experience with generative AI, including safety approaches.
• Track record of peer-reviewed publications or similar relevant writing on suicide and youth.
• Recognition as an emerging leader in youth mental or behavioral health.
• Excellent communication skills.

9. Benefits & Work Terms

• US salary range published for the role: USD 150,000–217,000, plus a 15% bonus target, equity and benefits.
