Job Description

The director oversees institutional protection of human research participants through policies, ethical standards and compliance with national research laws and regulations, and serves as a liaison with the Ministry of Public Health.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee research participant protection policies, procedures and institutional compliance.
• Coordinate with the Ministry of Public Health, regulatory bodies and research ethics review teams.
• Manage IRB office operations, quality monitoring, investigations and corrective actions.
• Supervise staff, training programs and resources associated with the research protection function.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a biomedical field and a master’s degree.
• Ten or more years of relevant human-subject research protection/clinical research experience, including five or more years in management.
• IRB professional certification or willingness to obtain it within six months.
