Job Description

The Manager of Performance Medicine coordinates clinical and performance-support teams serving athletics programmes. The emphasis is on athlete welfare, coordinated decision-making and consistent delivery across training and competition settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Shape and implement a medical and performance support strategy for athletics programmes.
• Coordinate physicians, physiotherapists, coaches and sports-science specialists around athlete-care priorities.
• Establish clinical governance, screening and athlete-safety processes for training and competition.
• Oversee multidisciplinary service quality, team delivery and implementation of anti-doping policies.
• Integrate athlete workload and recovery information with clinical screening, injury surveillance and return-to-sport decisions.
• Coordinate emergency readiness, clinical governance, medical records and compliance with anti-doping rules across competition support.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Approximately 12–15 years of relevant professional experience, including 4–7 years in a comparable leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of sports performance, exercise science, athlete welfare and recovery.
• Relevant medical or allied-health qualification and demonstrable involvement in track-and-field performance support.
• Meet medical-licensing eligibility in Qatar and demonstrate relevant leadership of multidisciplinary high-performance teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Medical doctor qualification in sports medicine or relevant advanced credentials.
• Experience with elite national teams, Olympic programmes or major international competitions.
• Working knowledge of electronic medical records and performance-management systems; Arabic language and culture are beneficial.
