Purpose and Scope of the Job

The Consultant is responsible for patients with medical problems generally considered to fall his/her specialty. Consultant will maintain compliance with the Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations of Hospital, Ministry of Health standards for the Department; He / She will also plan, directs, administers and supervises activities of patients. Reports to the Medical Director on matters relating to the operation of the patient care division and maintain contact with the Head of Department.

Main Duties and Responsibilities/Performance Standards

Diagnosis and treatment of patients referred to department and responsible to run his / her own clinic.

To provide Consultant- level patient care, protect and promote the health of patients and the public by providing current and effective evidence-based standard of practice and care.

Ensures that data returned from Ophthalmology to the screening service should be in a format consistent Medical Standards and use a preformatted form including if necessary reviews of laser Books.

Prescribes drugs or treatment, including repeat prescriptions, only when you have adequate knowledge of the patient’s health, and are satisfied that the drugs or treatment serve the patient’s need

Keeps clear, accurate and legible records, reporting the relevant clinical findings, the decisions made, the information given to patients, and any drugs prescribed or other investigation or treatment.

Consults and take advice from colleagues, where appropriate.

Undertakes interventional procedures, as part of the patients' treatment and /or to reach a diagnosis, where appropriate, in line with his delineated clinical privileges.

Participates in teaching programs in the Department and its sections, regular seminars, promotes clinical investigative work.

Maintains the highest professional standard of documentation in line with policies and procedures and internationally accepted standards.

Reviews out patient’s summaries and shall prepare reports and statistical analysis as required of him; such reports will be prepared in a timely manner in accordance with the standards within the Department.

Job Scope:

The staff nurse provides direct and indirect age specific care for assigned patients in medical surgical nursing units per scheduled shifts. Purpose and Scope of the Job

Under general supervision, Radiologic technologists, also referred to as radiographers, produce images (radiographs) of parts of the human body for use in diagnosing medical problems. Proper positioning of the patients on examination table or stand for every exam.

Calculate the exact amount of contrast needed for oral or i.v. administration.

Monitor the patients’ vital signs during contrast administration by the radiology nurse and notify the radiologist of any relevant changes.

Follow strictly the hospital patient identification policy in all steps of the imaging process.

Observe the quality of each image and repeat work which did not meet the criteria only after being instructed by Radiologist.

Assure that all supplies needed in day to day work such as contrast, cannulas, catheters are present and expiry dates are o.k.

Keep all list of all emergency drugs needed in radiology dept. Ready and make sure that Radiology Nurses are performing a daily check on the expiry dates.
